Wylie ISD Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Wylie ISD Library Media Services is to educate our patrons in information literacy with diverse ideas and materials to inspire continuous learning.
The library media program is intended to ensure that all patrons are effective users of ideas and information by providing intellectual and physical access to materials. The library program fosters competence and stimulates interest in research, inquiry, and reading through meeting the needs of individual students. The purpose of the school library is to:
Inspire and develop a life-long love of reading.
Provide materials from the campus or district to support and enrich the curriculum.
Provide students with library materials and services reflecting their culture, language and interests for maximum growth as individuals.
Enable students, faculty and staff to become skillful and to accept personal responsibility in the use of all available materials and equipment.
Integrate the use of cloud technology.
Provide support of the philosophy, goals and objectives formulated by the school campus of which it is an integral component.
Check out procedures
Students may check out two books at a time before school, between classes, or after school. Books may be renewed if necessary. Overdue book fines can be taken care of by bringing Kleenex for the library, or canned goods for donation to the Wylie Christian Care Center.
